  • What should I bring with me?
    We ask that everyone bring a cell phone to fill out waivers. Any personal items are required to be locked in one of our complimentary lockers provided after check-in.
  • What is an escape room?
    An escape room is an interactive game for people of all ages to enjoy. You will be placed in a themed room and given a back story with an objective to complete. You have 60 minutes to solve puzzles, clues, and activities while opening locks and doors in order to escape.
  • Do I need any special skills, knowledge, or experience?
    No. Escape rooms are suitable for anyone who is looking to have fun. No outside skills or knowledge is needed in the rooms. No force or heavy lifting is required. If you need an accommodation due to a disability, please contact us and we can try to accommodate you or answer your questions.
  • What languages are offered for a Virtual Reality escape room?
    We currently offer English, Spanish, German, French, and Russian. Simply let your GameMaster know which language you prefer upon arrival.
  • How many people can participate in a Virtual Reality Escape Room at once?
    5 Players is the most that our VR Escape Rooms can hold. Unfortunately, this is a strict policy due to game and space requirements.
  • What is a Virtual Reality (VR) Escape Room?
    Virtual Reality (VR) Escape Rooms are a unique way to experience gaming and entertainment. Players enter a virtual environment and solve puzzles and challenges as a team, using their combined wits, creativity, and problem-solving skills to progress. The virtual reality experience immerses players completely in the game, making them feel like they are actually in the environment. VR Escape Rooms offer a great amount of different themes and puzzles that you couldn’t imagine was possible in a real life escape room. They provide a fun and engaging way to socialize with friends, family, and strangers alike.
  • Why should I choose VR over a traditional escape room?
    Virtual reality escape rooms allow for total immersiveness into places we physically cannot make possible. There are many different choices to choose from, such as space stations floating above earth, time travel, fighting dragons, making potions, exploring temples and fighting the mighty kraken! Every person has their own preference, but all of the staff here at Tropic Escape Room and our beta testers have tried all of the themes and we have all agreed they are fun, immersive, and exciting.
  • What if I, or someone in my party has motion sickness?
    Our VR game provider states... "Removing the risk of VR motion sickness is a priority for every experience we design. Because our products are designed for free-roam movement, player’s views are in total synchronization with their real-world movements. This is compared to other VR experiences that move the game world around the player while they remain stationary — which can induce motion sickness and nausea" If you have concerns of motion sickness, contact us for further assistance.
  • Do I need any prior experience to participate in a Virtual Reality Escape Room?
    Not necessarily, our games are designed for first time players and include a required training video on how to play a virtual reality escape room before you can begin. We do suggest watching the trailer video provided on our website before you play your game to get an understanding of the experience you will be in. Some of the Virtual Reality Escape Rooms can be hard and difficult. There are no limits to the hint system. You can recieve a hint every 10 minutes. Our GameMasters may also assist you with providing hints or assistance when absolutely needed.
  • How long does a Virtual Reality Escape Room experience last?
    60 Minutes. However, it is possible that you escape in a shorter time. It's up to you to try and find out!
  • Is it clean or sanitary to use headsets that others have used?
    Yes! We purchased specific eye covers made for commercial use. These are made of silicone and are able to be cleaned and wiped. Every headset and controller is fully sanitized before your reservation.
  • Do I need to bring anything?
    Nope! We provide everything you need to participate in our Virtual Reality Escape Rooms! We suggest bringing a cell phone to complete the waivers, however we will require that you lock up all personal belongings to avoid anything falling out of your pockets and into the play space.
  • Is there an age limit for Virtual Reality Escape Rooms?
    Yes. All groups require an adult 18 or older and must be at least 16 and older to participate. This is in accordance to our headset and VR providers recommendations and policies. The headsets are designed for adult sized heads and will not fit on all younger players.
  • What if I'm late for my reservation?
    We strongly encourage all members of at the group to arrive at least 15 minutes early (and please account for traffic) to fill out waiver and use the restroom. Because we run on a strict schedule, this affects our rooms for the rest of the day. Time may be deducted from your time clock if you arrive late.
  • What happens if I run out of time?
    The time allowed for escape is 60 minutes. Many teams escape in the time frame allowed. However, if you are unable to escape in 60 minutes, you will be let out, as your game time has expired.
  • Can I book for more than 8 people?
    For reservations of 9+, it's best to split your group up into even groups and reserve a room for each group. If you have questions about larger bookings or you need help setting up a booking for larger groups, please fill out the large bookings form at tropicescaperoom.com/largebooking.
  • How do we book?
    Click on our BOOK NOW button located on any page of our site. Choose the room you'd like to complete, date and time. Choose your players. All rooms are currently PRIVATE, meaning your group will be the only ones in the room. Complete the booking by paying $32 per person with a credit card. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after. Show up and have fun!
  • Are there age requirements?
    We believe an escape room is for everyone of all ages to do. All are welcome. However, we require that an adult (18+) is present and playing in all of our escape rooms. This is to ensure the safety of our players. No refunds will be provided for groups that cannot have an adult present during their booking. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
  • Will my group be the only group in the room?
    Yes. At Tropic Escape Room, we currently only have private rooms.
  • Can I walk-in without a reservation?
    We run escape rooms and VR on a by-reservation basis. To see today's closest availability, go to tropicescaperoom.com/timeline.
  • Are masks required?
    At the time, with Florida's current requirements, masks are not required in the building or rooms. We provide hand sanitizer and encourage all to sanitize before and after their stay. We also sanitize our rooms and all of our commonly touched spaces multiple times a day. We also encourage and try to make sure that all groups stay separate throughout your experience.
  • Will I be in a room with other people?
    Currently all of our rooms are private. Meaning that when your reservation is booked, the slot is locked and no-one else can book the time slot.
  • What if we all want to pay separate?
    We currently offer "split payment" for any group that wishes to pay separate. When booking you will select the number of people in the booking, the room, the time, and go through to the payment input screen. There you will choose split payment and pay for the first person or group of people. You will get an email that can be forwarded to other members of your group. Beware, that if full payment is not received within 1 hour of your booking the original credit card will be charged the remainder.
  • How does Split Pay work?
    Split pay is a great way for you and your party to split your payment so each person can pay for a set amount of people. The steps are: Start creating a booking Proceed through all of the steps until you arrive to the payment page Choose the "Split Payment" option when checking out Press "Confirm Booking" An email will be sent to your email address provided Use that link to pay for your portion, and forward the link to your friends to give them access to pay their portions That's it! Please keep in mind: The full payment is authorized to be taken from your account upon completion of booking. If the full payment is not made by 1 HOUR before the booking, you will be charged the remainder of the balance due. If no payment is made, or you do not show, the full balance WILL be charged to the card on file. Bookings are non-refundable.
  • Can I get a refund if I can't show up?
    Refunds are not offered for any no shows or cancellations. You can purchase our refund package (+$5, per person), which will allow you to get a refund on the ticket price in case your entire party, or some of your party, cannot show.
  • I have already made my booking, but I want to bring another person.
    That's perfectly fine! You may bring up to 8 people in total, including you, to your escape reservation! If you want to bring more than 8, contact us before you arrive so we can see if we can accommodate it. Note: They will all be charged to the card on file when you arrive, we cannot accept payments in-store.
  • Can I host a birthday party, get-together, or large group activity here?
    Escape rooms are a great way to spend time with the people you know and love. They create a great way to communicate with others, all while having fun. We have the space to host large groups at our location. However, we do not have space for cake, food, or presents. If you would like to make a large booking for groups of 9+, please split your group and book online. There is a minimum of a 15 minute gap between room start times, however, if this is a problem, or if your group is 17 people or more, please fill out this form for assistance.
